Volunteer Aliyah Coordinators Needed

Voleh is currently recruiting Volunteer Aliyah Coordinators throughout Israel who have a passion for helping new immigrants get settled into Israeli society. New olim often need assistance with the following services:

Bank Account: choosing a bank, opening an account, and teaching how to write a check and use Israeli credit cards.

Government offices: locating the offices olim need, and guiding them in the correct order with the right documents.

Apartment Rentals: understanding contract details and communications with Hebrew speaking landlords, paying arnona (tax) and applying for olim reduction (if eligible), and sometimes locating temporary furnishings.

Bituach Leumi/National Insurance: registration for health fund and child allowance, choosing a kupat cholim.

Medical Care: choosing doctors and specialists, birthing hospitals/midwives/doulas and breast feeding counseling.

Selecting and Registering with Utility Service Providers: Phone, Cell Phone, Internet, Electric, Gas, Water/Sewer.

Shopping: their first supermarket experience and providing advice on where to shop for appliances, furniture and basic needs.

Transportation: understanding Bus schedules and other public transportation options in your area.

Education: meetings with municipal education department, school tours and registration, obtaining books and supplies, Preschool tours and registration, Authorization of Academic degrees from other countries, etc.

Employment: resources for finding employment in their field, understanding contracts, benefits, and employment laws, etc.

Driver’s License: fulfilling requirements
